Clayton Rountree and Dillon Stallings traveled to Kentucky Lake to compete in the KHSAA State Championship which took place on May 11th and 12th. Their finish in the regional tournament on Lake Cumberland qualified the junior duo to fish for the state title for the third consecutive season. After two very tough days of practice on Kentucky Lake, the boys weighed in 3 fish for 10lbs on day one of the tournament. Their catch landed them in 10th place and still very much in contention for the state title. On day 2, the fishing was even slower and the guys landed 2 fish weighing in at 6lbs 1oz. Their two-day total of 16lbs 1 oz earned them an 11th place finish out of 80 boats who participated.
Marshall County anglers Tristan Barrett and Evan Bremmerkamp won the tournament with a two day total of 8 fish weighing 27lbs 11oz.
